27 Forest Insect and Disease Field Day. Co-sponsored by the University of Idaho Extension and Idaho Department of Lands, Forest Insect and Disease Field Day gives program participants first-hand exposure to a wide range of organisms that impair the growth of trees and forests in northern Idaho. Experts will help participants identify insect and disease symptoms, and discuss practical methods of dealing with them. Program begins at 8 a.m. at the Bonner County Fairgrounds, and ends by 5 p.m. Registration fee of $15 covers materials and refreshments; pre-register at the U of I Extension Office in Bonner County by July 20 (download registration form online). 27 National Teen Library Lock-in & Nerf Battle. Sandpoint Library, 1407 Cedar St., hosts a night of fun and games with teens from libraries across the country starting at 8 p.m. Enjoy author chats, Minute to Win It games, Nerf battle, good tunes and more. Stay the night and have pancakes in the morning. Bring a Nerf gun and ammo, PJs, sleeping bag, and pillow. 28-29 Wilderness First Aid Classes. Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness has two Wilderness and Remote First Aid (WRFA) and CPR classes scheduled, and seekers of a WRFA/CPR certification or recertification can sign up for the classes July 28-29 or October 20-21 at the price of $60 (with the caveat that participants will also give two days of volunteer time). The FSPW First Aid classes are led by FSPW board member Carol Jenkins, a retired RN and certified Red Cross WRFA instructor. The WRFA classes are presented at the Idaho Conservation League offices in the Sandpoint Event Center. 2 Adult Grief Support Group. Bonner General Health Community Hospice holds an Adult Grief Support Group at 6 p.m. in the classrooms at BGH, 520 N. Third Ave. Call Lissa at 208-265-1185 for more information. *Held on the first and third Thursday of every month.

6-10 Show Camp. Youth ages 7-14 are invited to Show Camp, and Session 2 will be held daily from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 6-10 at Lakeview Park. The camp is under the direction of Darla Dreyer, a former Disney choreographer and director. Camp participants will work on comedy routines and skits, an opening production number, and song presentation. Camp will end with a performance for family and friends. Participants should bring a sack lunch, water bottle, and wear comfortable shoes. $95 fee (city residents receive $5 discount); scholarships available at the Sandpoint Parks and Recreation office. 8 Intro to Epilog Laser Class. The epilog laser is the most popular tool at Makerpoint, and now the community can come share the magic of laser cutting and engraving with this introductory class from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Makerpoint Studios, 1424 N. Boyer Ave. In this one-day session, work side by side with the instructor to learn the basics of Adobe Illustrator and make the laser hum while cutting and engraving your holiday projects. You will be able to come back with more ideas and projects to cut and engrave to your heart's content. Fee is $71 ($2 city discount); register online. *Held on the second Wednesday of the month.
