The Garden of Artistry arrives
Held July 24-26 at Ponderay Garden Center

SANDPOINT, ID--The Sandpoint area has a well deserved reputation as a center for the arts in all forms, and four years ago another event was added to the attractions. The Ponderay Garden Center wanted to hold a fine art show on its beautiful grounds with its stage and event lawn. Gabe Gabel was asked to be show director and create another opportunity for the fine artists of the region to showcase their work. She brings her 40 year experience as a professional artist, but more importantly, a wealth of contacts with other professional artists who were to form the nucleus of the first year's show. And once the quality of the first show's art work was established, more of the area artists were eager to take part.

And the Ponderay Garden Center is a wonderful location for a fine art show.  The old farmstead with its mature trees, meandering trails, stream and ponds is lovely.  Right on Highway 95 just north of Ponderay, there is ample parking.  The event lawn and stage make it perfect for the benefit friday night Opening Reception, and the staff of the garden center is there to assist and support the art show in every way possible.

There are so many wonderful artists. Bob Walton, Betty Billups, Ron Adamson, Bob Bissett, Dalas Klein, Nancy Russell, Linda Wolfe, Karen Robinson, Cheryl Keith, Bonnie DeHart, Rick Urdaul, Sheila Bledsoe, and Terry Lee have been with the show since the beginning.  So has Cheryl Metcalf, this year's poster artist.   This year we are also proud to include  among others Susan Dawson, Lora Metz, Kelly Sooter, Hulan Fleming. Valeria Yost, Sandra Hiller, Teresa Fisher, Tina Turner, Jeff Tift, Barbara Conner-Reed, Julie Reinbold, Maia Leisz, Kevin Kirking, and T. Kurtz, who is also show manager. The work shown ranges from the traditional to the impressionistic, there is an incredible range of mediums and styles.

Many of our artists teach at workshops, we invite them to bring information and schedules to hand out at the show.  We are also inviting area art associations, guilds, and galleries to bring information that we can offer to the public about other art events and locations in our region.  By promoting all art in this area we help make the public aware of what we have to offer during the year. Sandpoint used to be known as an Art Town.  The artists are still here with everything they have to enrich us culturally, we hope to make that reputation even stronger and more visible. The opportunity given us by the Ponderay Garden Center is an asset not only to the artists but to the area communities as well.

Please come join us this July 24-26, 2015! The artwork is amazing, the garden center delightful, and the artists you meet will be an experience you will long remember.
