BGH Skywalk named Jack Parker Bridge
Honors board member's service

SANDPOINT--Bonner General Health (BGH) is pleased to announce that the signature feature of the new medical office building on Cedar Street, the skywalk to the hospital building, will be named the Jack Parker Bridge.

Bonner General Health's CEO Sheryl Rickard said, "Jack Parker has been a bridge between Bonner General and the community for over 50 years, including 40 years of service as chairman. The Board of Directors and the entire BGH team is pleased to honor Jack for his incredible commitment of service to healthcare in Bonner County."

Ford Elsaesser, the current Chairman of the BGH Board, adds, "Jack was Chairman of the Board for the original Hospital building construction in 1972; the addition in 1978; and the west wing addition with the four operating rooms in 1998. Not to mention the Pinegrove Medical Building, Healing Garden, and the consistent addition of outpatient services from mammography in 1985, to the wound care center in 2013. Jack's record of achievement will remain unmatched."

Jack Parker joined the Board in 1964, 15 years after the original Hospital was floated up Lake Pend Oreille in sections. BGH is now a full-service health care organization with over 400 employees who cared for over 134,865 patients in 2014.

Sheryl Rickard goes on to say, "the development of the BGH Campus is due in large part to Jack's leadership. We are pleased that the signature architectural feature of the new building will honor his service."
