Looks like the kokanee are back

Chosen Pick of the Month! Judges' comments: "It's a unique photo and I've never seen this fish before, so it's cool to have photos like that in the gallery!" "It's a rare, fish-eye view as well as a harbinger of the fisheries recovery in the lake and reminder of our rare bounty of wildlife and wild ecosystems here." The photographer writes: "It looks like efforts in reducing the lake trout and increasing the kokanee numbers are paying off. I used my new GoPro camera and photographed these kokanee in Trestle Creek behind Jeb and Margaret's, just upstream and downstream of the little railroad trestle. In the 29 years I have been coming to Jeb and Margaret's, I have never seen so many kokanee." Taken Sept. 7.
