We have a hatch! The first baby chick broke through its egg at about 5:38 p.m. yesterday, June 18. Mom and Dad have been attentive, for anxious osprey watchers there is still plenty to worry about — the continued cool weather, feeding and other hazards infant birds face. Although it’s believed the remaining egg is not viable, that won’t be definitively answered for at least a few more days.
