Selkirk Outdoor Leadership & Education (SOLE) invites you to the 21st Annual Backcountry Film Festival starting at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9 at the Panida Theater, 300 N. First Ave. Doors open one hour before the show. This all-ages event celebrates winter adventure while supporting underserved youth through SOLE's SnowSchool Experience Program, which has provided over 36,000 hours of outdoor education to more than 4,800 rural youth over the past 14 winters. Produced in partnership with Boise-based nonprofit Winter Wildlands, the festival features award-winning films that highlight human-powered experiences, plus a Holiday Silent Auction with gifts from local vendors, gear vendors, raffle prizes, local brews, and other surprises. Tickets are available through S.O.L.E., at the door, or at select locations, and all proceeds benefit SOLE's nationally recognized SnowSchool curriculum, which includes snow science, winter ecology, conservation literacy, avalanche education, and outdoor living skills. This family-friendly event is a great way to connect with the community and support a meaningful cause. Get more information, or tickets at Panida.org.
