A longtime Sandpoint tradition, Lost in the '50s returns the third weekend of May with a full lineup of classic cars, cruising, music and community events. Festivities begin Thursday, May 14, with a Welcome Party at Connie's Cafe from 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 15, features Cars and Coffee from 9-11 a.m., hosted by the Idaho club with coffee and donuts, followed by the annual Cruise and Parade at 6 p.m. and a Street Party near the city parking lot and fountain. On Saturday, May 16, classic and custom vehicles will line First, Second and Third avenues for the popular car show. Friday and Saturday evenings also bring old-time rock and roll concerts to the Bonner County Fairgrounds, with Rocky and the Rollers performing Friday for reunion night and Chubby Checker taking the stage Saturday. '50s Themed Dance'50s Themed Dance Party
Join Sandpoint Parks & Rec. and Sandpoint Dance for a 1950s-themed dance at the Sandpoint Community Hall, 204 S. First Ave. This event is free and open to the public. NO partner is needed, and all skill levels are welcome. Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Wear your favorite '50s attire to show off your style. This dance is drug alcohol and tobacco free. Doors open at 5:45 p.m., East Coast Swing basic lesson will be offered from 6-7 p.m., and open dance to 1950s music from 7-9 p.m.
