Voters approve $14.1 million levy
LPOSD to make facility improvements

SANDPOINT--Voters in the Lake Pend Oreille School District approved the $14.1 million plant facilities levy by 55.9%. The proposed levy includes $5.1 million for health/safety needs and deferred maintenance items, along with capital equipment, plus $1.2 million for the addition of four classrooms at Sagle Elementary, $6.8 million for construction at Kootenai Elementary and $1 million construction contingency.

Unofficial results are: 2,777 votes for the levy (55.9%), and 2,193 votes against the levy (44.1%).
Here's a look at votes from each of the polling sites:
Clark Fork Jr/Sr HS - 72 yes, 138 no.
Hope Elementary - 96 yes, 95 no.
Kootenai Elementary - 561 yes, 381 no.
Northside Elementary - 206 yes, 269 no.
Sagle  Elementary - 436 yes, 458 no.
Sandpoint High School - 384 yes, 180 no.
Farmin Stidwell Elementary - 416 yes, 242 no.
Washington Elementary - 458 yes, 186 no.
Southside Elementary - 148 yes, 244 no.

In the trustee election, Zone 2 incumbent Vickie Pfeiffer retained her seat on the school board. Pfeiffer received 420 votes (60.9%), and challenger Anna Largen received 270 votes (39.1%).
