Still life with moose

Chosen Pick of the Month. Judges' comments: "Talk about a 'picture window'. "It captures a quintessentially North Idaho scene of moose-in-the-picture-window. Not something you'd see out your window in New York or California or Texas, that's for sure." About the photo: Among the other things Upland Drive resident Stephen Drinkard brags about concerning his new iPhone 4S is its high-resolution camera, used to capture this moose wandering by his picture window, framed by wife Susan's vast vase collection. "There are three moose who hang out here each winter," wrote the photographer. "They are not afraid of our 40-pound dog and, after eating the pear tree and grape plants, one moose just decided to see if all that color in the window was edible." Taken Nov. 20.
