Bookmobile rolls into rural towns

County residents in Samuels, Laclede, Careywood, Westmond and Hope now have direct library service via the new East Bonner County Free Library District bookmobile, purchased with funds from the 1998 bond issue. Brightly painted outside with the district's logo and the slogan "Take me to your reader," the bus carries books for readers of all ages, plus audio and video materials and a word processing computer.

Bookmobile service started in March with one day each week in Samuels, Laclede and Hope and one day split between Careywood and Westmond. Co-coordinator Robyn Ward reported in April that there were as many as 31 patrons at a single stop.
