Sip & Shop: Friends of the PANIDASip & Shop for Friends of the Panida
On Thursday, August 14, Pend d'Oreille Winery invites the community to its annual Sip & Shop event from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at 301 Cedar Street in downtown Sandpoint. Enjoy a relaxed summer evening sipping wine, browsing unique local goods, and catching up with friends, all while supporting a great cause. A portion of the evening's proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Panida, helping to preserve and enhance our beloved historic theater. Come raise a glass and shop with purpose.

Movies on the MountainMovies on the Mountain + Special Activity
Head up to Schweitzer on Friday, August 15 for an evening of creative fun and an outdoor movie on the lawn near the Crow's Bench patio in the Village. The event kicks off at 7:00 p.m. with a space hero cube craft activity where kids and families can make their own figurines before the film begins. The movie will start at dusk, sometime between 8:00 and 8:45 p.m., depending on the light. This is a free, family-friendly event, and fresh popcorn will be available for just one dollar per bag. Aether's Traverse: Idaho Panhandle Gravel SeriesAether's Traverse
Experience one of the most scenic and challenging gravel rides in the Inland Northwest on Saturday, August 16, with the newest addition to the Idaho Panhandle Gravel Series. This 35-mile route begins in Sandpoint, heading west on Baldy Road across the southern Selkirk Range into the Priest River drainage before looping eastward up the Middle Fork of the East River and climbing 6,300 feet to finish at the Sky House atop Schweitzer Mountain Resort. With the exception of two brief paved stretches, the entire course follows gravel roads. Proceeds from the ride benefit Pend Oreille Pedalers and KRFY Public Radio. Wings Over Sandpoint Fly-in19th Annual Wings Over Sandpoint Fly-in
The 19th Annual Wings Over Sandpoint Fly-in returns to the Sandpoint Airport on Saturday, August 16, welcoming regional pilots and aviation enthusiasts for a day of aircraft displays and community fun. Visitors can view a wide range of aircraft, including general aviation planes, antique models, float planes, and experimental craft, all on display until about 1:30 p.m. The event begins with a hearty country breakfast served from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., with tickets priced at $12 for adults and $8 for kids. Proceeds from breakfast sales benefit the Sandpoint EAA Chapter 1441 Flight Scholarship Program, which supports local high school students pursuing aviation. Rock Out Cancer3rd Annual Rock Out Cancer Concert
The third annual Rock Out Cancer Concert, hosted by Community Cancer Services in partnership with One Change Group, returns to Matchwood Brewing, 513 Oak Street, on Saturday, August 16, beginning at 5:00 p.m. This lively fundraiser offers an evening of great music, community spirit, and family-friendly fun, all in support of a worthy cause. New to the lineup this year is the Battle of the Bands, bringing talented local musicians together to compete for bragging rights while entertaining the crowd. Guests can relax with a craft beer from Matchwood Brewing, enjoy delicious food, and connect with friends and neighbors while contributing to the ongoing work of Community Cancer Services. Bonner County Brawl: Demo DerbyBonner County Brawl
Presented by CO-OP Gas & Supply Company, the Bonner County Fairgrounds at 4203 N. Boyer Ave. will be the place to be on Saturday, August 16, for an unforgettable night of Demo Derby action starting at 7:00 p.m. Gates open at 5:30 p.m., allowing plenty of time for spectators to arrive early, find great seats, and soak in the pre-event atmosphere. This high-energy evening promises all the hard-hitting excitement and roaring engines that make a demolition derby a crowd favorite. Children age 2 and under receive free admission, though they must remain in a lap for capacity considerations, making this a family-friendly outing that offers both thrills and entertainment for all ages. In deep space, the crew of the commercial starship Nostromo is awakened from their cryo-sleep capsules halfway through their journey home to investigate a distress call from an alien vessel. The terror begins when the crew encounters a nest of eggs inside the alien ship. An organism from inside an egg leaps out and attaches itself to one of the crew, causing him to fall into a coma. Though rooted in key narratives about the people and events that have shaped Sandpoint over the past 150 years, each docent adds their own favorite anecdotes to the tour, meaning no two are exactly alike! 15-16 Festival Of Quilts. The Panhandle Piecemakers Quilt Guild proudly presents the Festival of Quilts from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 15 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16. Event will be held at the Heartwood Center, 615 Oak St. Admission is $5 (children 12 and under are free). Enjoy this marketplace, with vendors & a raffle quilt.

15-16 Sandpoint on Stage Presents: Criminals. Written and directed by Teresa Pesce. In the sparse setting of a government interrogation room, three criminal suspects are interviewed. The professional interrogators must close the gap between suspicion of guilt and certainty of guilt by getting an admission of the crime. Sometimes it's tense and tricky, sometimes it's very funny, but always "Criminal" is an evening you'll enjoy! Recommended for audiences over 15. Don't miss it at the Panida Little Theater, 302 N. 15-17 Fri-Sun Karaoke Nights. Join all weekend to show off your vocal skills and sing your heart out from Fri-Sun. 8 p.m. at the Tervan.

16 Aether's Traverse. This event starts in Sandpoint and takes riders 35 miles westward towards Priest Lake on Baldy Road and then eastward up the Middle Fork of the East River to the Sky House at the top of Schweitzer Mountain Resort. Join at the LDS Church, 602 Schweitzer Cutoff Rd. from 1-3 p.m. where you will learn  about the lesser-known composting methods, Bokashi and Keyhole composting, from VIP member Pam Dore. She will explain the steps for setting these up in our own gardens. Then walk across the street to the Bonner County Fairgrounds to check out the fair and see each other's entries. 19 Little Live Radio Hour. Every third Tuesday of the month, KRFY hosts a Little Live Radio Hour and broadcasts live on air from the Panida Little Theater! KRFY host Jack Peterson, chats with a local musician (this month is Truck Mills & Carl Rey) between songs and creates a fun listening environment to be heard live on the radio or actually in the room if you can make it down! These events are always free to attend and they ask live audience members to arrive by 6:45 p.m. and get settled with a glass of beer or wine for the 7 p.m. live broadcast. 8-13 WaCanId Ride. Annual Rotarian supported bicycle tour takes cyclists on paved roads encircling the Selkirk Mountains of Washington, Canada and Idaho - hence the name WaCanId. The six-day event covers 370 miles/595 kilometers and showcases the International Selkirk Loop's spectacular scenery. wacanid.org/.
