Voices in the Wilderness invites the community to a Wild Mic Takeover at Idaho Pour Authority on Thursday, September 25, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in celebration of National Public Lands Day. Hosted at 203 Cedar Street in Sandpoint, this storytelling event encourages participants to share tales, songs, or poems about their experiences in the wild, whether funny, moving, or poetic, with each storyteller given about five minutes to present. Voices in the Wilderness, a project started in 2013 to highlight the diversity of people who love wild places, will be taking over the open mic night to celebrate the importance of public lands. 4-5 Panhandle Preparedness Expo. The purpose of the Panhandle Preparedness Expo is to raise disaster awareness through education - preparing the community to be more self-sufficient. There will be vendors, speakers, and demonstrations for the whole family. Admission is $5 for one day, or $9 for 2 days. 5 Take3: Where Rock Meets Bach. Take3, a trio featuring violin, cello, and piano, will perform a concert blending classical, pop, rock, and Americana at The Panida Theater, 300 N. 11 Sandemonium X. Come celebrate the landmark 10th anniversary of Sandemonium at the 7 B's Only Convention for All Things Nerdy, an inclusive, all-ages event designed to bring together fans of anime, comics, sci-fi, fantasy, tabletop and video games, esports, cinema, and more. Beginning at 10:00 a.m., attendees can enjoy a full day of activities including tabletop games, mini-painting, Magic the Gathering, crafting, and a variety of scheduled highlights such as video free play, a writer’s workshop with Quinne, a video tournament, a mini-figure painting contest, and the ever-popular cosplay contest. Fresh baked goods by Sandemonium will be available throughout the day, adding to the festive atmosphere. Founded in 2015 as a library event connected to the Teen Summer Reading Program, Sandemonium has since grown into Sandpoint’s premier celebration of nerd culture, offering a welcoming space for newcomers and seasoned fans alike. The 3rd Annual Sandpoint Oktoberfest returns to the Granary Arts District from noon to 6 p.m. Enjoy a festive day of live music, Bavarian eats, local brews, games, and a best-dressed contest, plus family-friendly fun with face painting, and kids' activities led by the YMCA. 11 Food Bank 45th Anniversary Fundraiser. Join in ending hunger bite-by-bite. 14 Anchors of Freedom: Celebrating America 250. Join the celebration of the U.S. Navy's 250th birthday with a special screening and discussion of Anchors of Freedom: Celebrating America250 and America's Sagebrush Navy at the Panida Theater, 300 N. First Ave. This community event honors America's maritime heritage and Idaho's unique naval legacy as part of the nationwide America250 commemoration, featuring film, discussion, and stories of service, innovation, and patriotism. Presented by Friends of Idaho Public Television in partnership with Idaho Public Television, the Idaho State Historical Society, the USS Idaho Commissioning Committee, the University of Idaho, the Museum of North Idaho, the Coeur d'Alene Public Library, and the West Bonner Library District. 6:30 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m. This is a free event.

14 Compassion Every Day. Buddhist nuns Thubten Chonyi and Thubten Dekyi from Sravasti Abbey lead a free six-week class series on cultivating peace of mind through daily acts of kindness. Sessions run Tuesdays, Sept. 9 - Oct. 14, 6:30 - 8 p.m., in the Newport Conference Room at the PUD Administration Building, 130 N. Washington Ave., Newport (enter from Pine Street). 15 Rock n Roll Bingo. Get over to the Tervan, 411 Cedar St. for a fun take on Bingo. It'll start at 6:30 p.m. and runs until 8:30 p.m. but you can join in anytime. There are prizes for winners, and it's only $5 to play. 15 Pressure Drop. The Panida Theater, 300 N. First Ave., hosts a screening of Pressure Drop at 7 p.m. This new film from Teton Gravity Research spans three decades of ski and snowboard adventure, following some of the world's best athletes as they take on Alaskan spines, massive cliffs, deep powder, and breathtaking descents from Norway to British Columbia, California to Alaska, and beyond. First Ave., hosts a special  screening of the documentary Finding Lucinda, followed by a live performance from ISMAY, the featured artist in the film, and a Q&A. Directed by Joel Fendelman and produced by Liz McBee, the film follows ISMAY (Avery Hellman) on a road trip through the South in search of inspiration by exploring the early life and legacy of three-time Grammy Award winner Lucinda Williams. 21 Little Live Radio Hour. Every third Tuesday of the month, KRFY hosts a Little Live Radio Hour and broadcasts live on air from the Panida Little Theater! KRFY host Jack Peterson, chats with a local musician between songs and creates a fun listening environment to be heard live on the radio or actually in the room if you can make it down! These events are always free to attend and they ask live audience members to arrive by 6:45 p.m. and get settled with a glass of beer or wine for the 7 p.m. live broadcast. 31 Halloween Party at Eichardt's. They're looking to recreate the Halloween Party of the past. No basic costumes. Per the Facebook event, owner Jeff says, "People would spend months making their costumes…they were the types of parties where you didn't need a costume contest because every costume was phenomenal."
